About This Site

This website is the final project for my CS 401 – Web Development class at Boise State University. Each class member was allowed to create a website of their own liking and I elected to make a website that could be used in tandem with my resume in order to give potential employers access to relevant information about myself.

The website was created using HTML, CSS, PHP, MySQL, and JavaScript during the summer semester of 2016. Currently, there is still some work that needs to be done to the site before it is finalized.

About Me

Profile Picture

My name is Ryan Avery and I am recent graduate in Computer Science from Boise State University, currently residing in Boise, Idaho. I graduated from high school in 2005 and began going to school part time at Central Oregon Community College while working part time as well.

In 2006 I moved from Bend Oregon to Corvallis Oregon and began playing online poker professionally full time (No Limit Texas Hold'Em). This continued for a few years until I decided to go on a trip to Europe. I bought a one-way ticket to Milan, Italy and left for Europe by myself on April 15th, 2009. I did the usual backpack and hostel thing and stayed in about 100 different cities all over western Europe. This lasted for about six months when I decided to return home.

In 2010, I decided to give College a real shot and began going to Central Oregon Community College again, only this time I was a full-time student. I received an Associates degree from COCC in 2012, and in 2013 I moved from Bend Oregon to Boise Idaho to attend Boise State University, pursuing a degree in computer science. I graduated from Boise State in May of 2017, and am currently looking for my first job out of University.
